The New Facebook Business Page

THE NEW FACEBOOK BUSINESS PAGE

It truly seems like Mark Zuckerberg and his team have been very busy in recent months. Facebook is about to present a total redesign of Facebook Business pages. This article aims to inform and thus help you prepare for the changes by following you through the new look Facebook Business Page for 2014.

After Facebook announced its recent algorithm change, introduction of video ads and the demise of sponsored stories, many page owners have begun, in recent weeks, to complain that their Facebook Business Page organic reach is almost disappeared. Although Facebook has not officially responded to these allegations that it is trying to force Facebook Business Page owners to start paying to reach their audiences, it is likely that the upcoming redesign is aimed to appease some of the recent “anti-Facebook” buzz.

Key features of the new Facebook Business Page

1. A New Streamlined Timeline

The right-side column of your timeline will display your posts meaning that all of your posts will appear consistently on your Page and in News Feed (TIP: Click any of below images to enlarge them).

The left side will feature the details of your business, including a map, your hours of business operation, phone number and website URL, as well as photos and videos. In the past, people had to click through to your “About” page before they could receive this information.

2. Wider Posting Column and Cover Photo

Page posts will expand to 511 pixels wide, instead of the previous 403 pixel limit. You may want to use the added real estate to feature bigger, engaging photos with your posts. The new Facebook Business Page design also allows a larger cover photo 851px wide by 315px high (see images above).

3 User-Friendly Admin Tools

No more searching for your recent activity and insights. The new Facebook Business page will have a new navigation options on the top of the Page, making it easier to access your activity, insights and settings. The Build Audience menu at the top of the Page offers direct access to your Ads Manager account.

The new Facebook for Business page design also features a responsive “This Week” section. No matter where you are on your page, you’ll be able to see information about your ads, new likes, post reach and unread notifications and messages.

4. Pages to Watch

Along with the new Facebook Business Page design, Facebook is also opening a new “Pages to Watch” feature in the Page Insights tool for all admins. Pages to Watch allows admins to create a list of Pages similar to their own and compare the performance of their Page with that of the businesses they care about.

On the “Overview” tab of Page Insights Facebook Business Page admins will see some key stats about the Pages they are watching. The “Posts” tab of Page Insights includes a feature to view the past week’s most engaging posts from the Pages you’re watching.

How can you get the new Facebook Business Page?

The new Facebook for Business page layout will not happen “automatically, AllFacebook says that page administrators will soon receive an invitation that reads “Coming soon: a new layout for Facebook pages. Add your page to the wait list to try it out.” (see image below)
